Saint Andrew’s Ministries

Saint  Andrew’s has many small groups that meet on a regular basis and provide internal ministry opportunities, including Bible Study, fellowship groups and many service-oriented ministries. There is a place for everyone and every age in our church home!

Internal ministries PACERS

Pastoral Care Ministry – has a training process and visits those who are sick or need prayer. Cathy Godfrey, 776-9271

Parish Nurse Ministry – Our parish nurse is available for general medical questions regarding health concerns, documents, etc.  contact Cindy Smith, .

Daughters of the King – is an Order for women with a spiritual sisterhood dedicated to a life of Prayer. Meetings are held the first Saturday monthly Sept. to May visitors welcome.

Brazos Church Pantry –  distributes food to those who are in need and volunteers interview clients, sack groceries, and carry items out to the clients.  No experience is needed, Contact Lewis Ford .

Lectors & Eucharistic Minister –  (formerly known as Lay Readers) Lectors read the Old Testament Lesson, the Psalm and the Prayer of the People during Services. Contact Joe Jaros,

Acolytes – Acolytes is fifth grade through college-age persons, but adults are also welcome.  We also welcome parents and their children serving together, Contact Lewis Ford,   or John Vilas.

Ushers and Oblationers – Sunday services, assisting, helping parishioners be seated, distributing service bulletins, passing the offertory plate and providing assistance for persons going to and from communion. Contact the office for more information on serving as an usher or oblationer.

Altar Guild – The Guild is made up of men and women, as well as Jr. Altar Guild members who serves the Lord’s table with dedication and purpose. Contact Frances WareJoyce Perkins .

Altar Flowers –  creates the beautiful alter flowers and for most church activities. Contact Christine Faber,  .

Card Committee–meets on the fourth Thursday  each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall to create and send birthday cards. Contact Cathy Godfrey,  .

Foyer Groups – 8 persons dinner groups meet at parishioners’ homes for food and fellowship Groups form in late August and meet in the fall and spring.  Contact Madeline Stiles,  .

Senior Breakfast Group – This group supports each other through prayer and with regular breakfast meetings at IHOP. See the church website for meeting dates.

Men’s Breakfast – Thursday mornings for Bible reading & fellowship 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall.  RSVPs not necessary, all welcome.

Women’s Breakfast – Thursday mornings for fellowship 8:30 a.m. at Cracker Barrel.  Contact Ann Orrell   or Anita Watson 436-2631.

Hospitality MinistryIncludes the Welcome Team and the Greeter ministry. The hospitality team coordinates First Wednesday Suppers, and other special events. The Welcome team helps greet new people to Saint Andrew’s and delivers bread to newcomers, and the Greeters serve as Sunday morning greeters during the services.

Food for Fellowship – Each Sunday we offer delicious treats provided by members of our Saint Andrew’s Fellowship hosts who sign up with their preferred days.

Episcopal Church Women –All women are part of ECW … Women’s fellowship, fundraising for the community with Celebrate with Relish, Luncheon and sale, and many other activities.

Vestry  – Saint Andrew’s Vestry is the governing body of our parish. Members are elected for three-year terms. View the Vestry page for more information.
