Bell & Carillon

The bells of Saint Andrew’s are a distinctive and joyful part of our life together, calling the community to worship and marking moments of celebration, remembrance, and prayer.

Our historic bronze bell, cast by the Meneely & Kimberly Foundry in 1878, has been part of Saint Andrew’s story for generations. Tuned to the note of A and weighing just over 1,000 pounds, it continues to ring out across Downtown Bryan, connecting the present to the church’s rich past. During First Friday in Downtown Bryan, visitors are often invited to ring the bell, sharing in this tradition firsthand.

In 2023, Saint Andrew’s expanded this tradition with the installation of a carillon in the church tower. These electronic bells allow for the ringing of hymns, seasonal music, and hourly chimes. Installed by the Verdin Company, whose work is found in churches and institutions across the country, the carillon extends the reach of Saint Andrew’s music into the wider community.

Together, the bell and carillon serve as a public voice of the church, offering a daily reminder of faith, tradition, and presence in the heart of Downtown Bryan.
