Vestry
Saint Andrew’s is blessed with an active, working vestry composed of parishioners who faithfully offer their time, wisdom, and gifts in service to the church.
What is a Vestry?
The Vestry is the governing board of the parish, responsible for overseeing the business and strategic life of the church. In partnership with the Rector, the Vestry helps guide the mission and ministry of Saint Andrew’s.
How Are Vestry Members Chosen?
Vestry members are communicants elected to serve three-year terms.
Each fall, parishioners are invited to submit recommendations to the Rector. The slate of candidates is then presented to the parish. At Saint Andrew’s, vestry members are elected in the late fall and formally announced at the Annual Parish Meeting.
What Does the Vestry Do?
The Vestry:
- Works with the Rector to develop and approve the annual budget
- Sets strategic priorities for the parish
- Evaluates progress toward parish goals
- Supports the overall mission and ministry of Saint Andrew’s
When Does the Vestry Meet?
The Vestry meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings include prayer, discussion, and updates on various areas of parish life. The Rector presides at all Vestry meetings.
Representing a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and seasons of life, the Vestry reflects the richness of our parish community working together to ensure Saint Andrew’s continues to be rooted in worship, growing in faith, and giving in love.
