Dear Friends,
Thank you for considering how you might serve at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church. We are blessed by those who offer their time, talents, and gifts to the ministry of Jesus Christ in our church and in the world.
Each of us has been given gifts to build up the Church and to serve others. These gifts are lived out in many ways, through worship ministries such as acolytes, lay Eucharistic ministers, and choir; through formation as teachers and mentors; and through outreach ministries like the Brazos Church Pantry and many others.
Saint Andrew’s is strengthened by the faithful service of its people. Thank you for the ways you share your gifts and represent Christ in the world. I am deeply grateful.

Worship Ministries
Worship at Saint Andrew’s is shaped by the shared work of many hands and hearts. These ministries support our life of prayer each week and offer meaningful ways to participate in the liturgy.
Acolytes
Children (age 8+), youth, and adults are invited to serve as acolytes. Acolytes assist in worship by carrying the processional cross, lighting and extinguishing candles, and helping prepare the altar for Holy Communion.
Saint Andrew’s Choir
The Saint Andrew’s Choir leads congregational singing and offers choral music at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the altar and cares for all elements used in worship, especially those used in Holy Communion. This ministry works quietly behind the scenes to support the beauty and order of our liturgy.
Bell Choir
Open to ages 10 and up, the Bell Choir offers a unique way to participate in worship through handbells. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings. No experience is necessary.
Children’s Chapel Helpers
During the 10:15 a.m. service, volunteers assist with Children’s Chapel by helping guide children to and from the chapel space and supporting a welcoming, engaging environment.
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild creates arrangements for Sunday worship and shares flowers with those in need, offering beauty and care through this ministry.
Greeters
Greeters welcome members and guests before and after Sunday services, helping create a warm and hospitable environment. Individuals and families of all ages are invited to serve.
Intercessors
Intercessors lead the Prayers of the People during Sunday worship.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs)
Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy in administering the wine during Holy Communion.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Trained parishioners who bring Holy Communion to members of the parish who are unable to attend worship in person.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Scripture readings and lead the Psalm during Sunday services.
Morning & Evening Prayer Leaders
Lay leaders serve as officiants and readers for Morning Prayer (Tuesday–Friday at 8:00 a.m.) and Evening Prayer (Tuesday–Thursday at 5:00 p.m.), helping lead the daily rhythm of prayer.
Ushers
Ushers assist with seating, distribute bulletins, receive the offering, and help guide the flow of worship, ensuring a welcoming and orderly experience for all.
Vergers
Vergers support the clergy in the leadership of worship, especially in coordinating processions and assisting with the smooth flow of the liturgy.
Worship Technology Ministry
This ministry supports weekly worship through sound, lighting, and livestreaming. No experience is necessary—training is provided.
Formation & Education
Adult Faith Formation Council
Plans and supports opportunities for adult learning, spiritual growth, and community engagement.
Children & Youth Faith Formation Council
Support the formation of children and youth through Sunday School and VBS and seasonal programs such as the Nativity and Passion Plays.
Outreach & Service
Brazos Church Pantry
Support our neighbors in need through food donations and volunteer service.
Brazos Hunger Solutions
Work alongside community partners to address food insecurity in Brazos County.
CROP Hunger Walk
Participate in this annual walk to raise funds to fight hunger locally and globally.
Angel Tree
Provide Christmas gifts for children whose parents are incarcerated through this Restorative Justice ministry.
Costa Rica Mission Trip
Take part in a developing international partnership focused on relationship-building and shared ministry.
Neal Elementary Scholars
Serve as a mentor, reading buddy, or supporter of students and families at our neighboring school.
Pastoral Care & Hospitality
Food for Friends
Provide meals for parishioners and families during times of illness or recovery.
Hospitality Ministry
Help host parish meals, receptions, and special events throughout the year.
Card Committee
Creates and sends cards to celebrate birthdays and care for parishioners.
Music & Arts
Music & Arts Supporters
Support and expand the vibrant musical and artistic life of Saint Andrew’s through events, partnerships, and programming.
First Friday Volunteers
Welcome visitors, share hospitality, and engage the community during Destination Bryan’s First Friday events.
Leadership & Administration
Vestry
Serve as an elected lay leader helping guide the mission and governance of the parish.
Diocesan Council Delegate
Represent Saint Andrew’s in diocesan leadership and decision-making.
Stewardship Council
Encourage generosity of time, talent, and treasure in support of the church’s mission.
Endowment Committee
Oversee funds that support long-term ministry, outreach, and worship.
Audit Review Committee
Ensure financial practices are accurate, transparent, and responsible.
Building Advisory Council
Support the care and stewardship of church buildings and grounds.
Emergency Preparedness Committee
Develop and maintain plans to help the parish respond to emergencies and disasters.
Archives Committee
Preserve and share the history and records of Saint Andrew’s.
